No Post in Production

It's been awhile since I last posted. But with only 1 follower to date (and that one is myself) I figured I wouldn't be letting anyone down with slow posts. I think I've made a decision to try and capture everything the way it is. I don't believe in post-production because anyone can fix an image. By taking a picture, we have already added a subjective outlook our art; I want to capture everything in that instance without alternations to the product. This means that it really wasn't captured instantaneously. Post-production, as of now, doesn't fit into my views. Let's keep it simple for the time being.

Hopefully a bigger following base will happen.

Blueprints. Instructions. Outlines. Costs. Equipment. Locations...

All of these clutter both my mind and desk while I try to understand the immense dream that I want to take on. This is no small project like the ones I've dealt with before; this is something way bigger and that much more intimidating. There are so many "how to" questions that I'm afraid to think of but it's something that must be answered.

Taking a break from my proposal and planning, I just wanted to create this blog as a first step in accomplishing this project. I figured: if people know about my project, I cannot let them down. Gather an audience: check. Now time to write my proposal to get funding for this project.

I'm not entirely sure of how this is going to turn out yet or who will take the time to read this proposal. It's turning out to be a daunting task and the word count is getting higher and higher; I feel like I'm writing the forward to a book that won't be published. I just sure hope the party at the receiving end of this would surely be kind enough to fund a poor college kid to chase his dreams. We'll see.

Back to writing. 加油!

The Begining of All Beginings

Hopefully, this will better explain the purpose of this blog. I'm creating and writing this in the hopes that it would raise followers and show the potential for my dream. The dream you may ask? To travel around the world and capture the backbone and heritage of many different places. From a simple start from my own roots and then to expand to other areas is what I propose; to do all this and share it with the world all for free because our roots are important in identifying who we are.

I want to be real about this: I am by no means a great photographer; I cannot even be considered a writer. This is being treated like an art project: nothing can be guaranteed and changes will be made...all over the place. I can only hope for a better outcome.

However, hopefully my passion will be able to carry this project through. Our generation (from what I can see) has started to lose sight of our heritage; our parents often don't have the time to go back to their hometown but when they do, things have changed. I wish to be able to capture what I can to share with the world. I want to share what I see, hear, and think while I'm going through this journey; my first step is into my own roots. I want to go to Taiwan and experience as much as I can and tell other people's stories.

Get ready world, cause here I come!
